2018 Petit Verdot
Red
Walla Walla Valley
$30.00

Description
Student Winemakers: Collin, Matan, Kelsey. Petite Verdot is one of the favorite wines at the College Cellars. Petit Verdot is one of the most important grape varieties of Bordeaux. It is rare to find 100% Petite Verdot wine because of its high tannins and robust flavors. As a late-ripening grape variety, those beautiful grapes hang on the vines for most of the season, and the bright colors are a luxury for a cold, snowy day.

Wine Profile
Food Pairing Notes:
This wine is very versatile and provocative. Indulge in pairing this wine with great Italian food, vegetarian food, soft steaks with sweet sauces, and chocolate desserts.
Production Notes:
The maceration for this wine was very low. The smoothness and subtle tannins developed even better when the wine was left in four different barrels, indulging notes of the spices from the large puncheon oak. These larger-sized barrels manage the strength and development of this Petit Verdot wine due to the increase in the inner barrel surface-to-wine ratio.
Tasting Notes:
Favorable growing conditions allowed for a wine with richly layered flavors of raspberries, black plums, milk chocolate mousse, and hints of hibiscus. Petite Verdot fans will appreciate this wine's casual sophistication and elegant structure. A bouquet of flavors and a delicate finish beautifully complement bright red and black fruit flavors.
Vintage Notes:
The result was a long, drawn-out season similar to the 2021 season. Conventional, organic, and biodynamic practices are utilised to teach the full spectrum of management techniques for an excellent result for every vintage.
