Scholarship wine used to be the only blend wine in the College Cellars until the 2021 vintage, when the new director of the Enology and Viticulture Program started bringing new ideas to the college through his previous experiences around the world. The blend of this wine contains 58% Syrah grapes, 40% Merlot grapes, and 2% Viognier grapes. This wine is a juicy pizza wine!

Scholarship wine contain lively fruit flavours of hibiscus are beautifully complemented with any appetizer, entrance or snacks, following by a part of main course of Lamb, Steak, red or white meat would be pair perfectly. The quality of this Scholarship wine provides for a wide range of food pairings in addition to the perfume notes as well.

Production Notes:

The students are excited to blend part of their projects into this wine: 58% Syrah grapes, 40% Merlot grapes, and 2% Viognier grapes. Where blended it into Seguin Moreau Puncheon. Puncheon is commonly used in Burgundy, France, where the fruit flavors are remarkable. The main reason for this big oak vessel is to regulate the acid compound and alcohols, balance the high PH of the new world wines, and increase the inner barrel surface-to-wine ratio.

Tasting Notes:

The freshness and light style of the wine is intriguing and capture the notes of fresh red currants, gooseberries, and winter desserts with slight hints of peppery white notes and vivid grape varietals: light tannins, refreshing tones, and silky-smooth finish.

Vintage Notes:

Overall, temperatures across the growing season were slightly above 20-year averages, not as the highest temperatures exposed it before. The cold temperatures delay the ripeness of the grapes of this grapes. Therefore, it creates a lighter style of wine.
