Wine Profile

Food Pairing Notes:

This Mourvèdre will pair great with decadent dishes that have the same intensity of smokiness, Gravelly and Meaty flavors, such as smoke meat, Wagyu, beef briskets, beef cheeks, and rib, gravy sauces, and if you want to get fancy, try some Beef Wellington with a buttery pastry crust.

Production Notes:

During the winemaking production, this Mourvèdre wine was pressed in a basket press within 1/3 Destem, 2/3 whole cluster foot-stomp by our students, and left in Stainless Steel Tank for three days. The grapes were fermented in two neutral barrels, such as Seguin Moreau from Eastern European and Neutral Radoux French Neutral, with an exceptional Cap Management, known as "Submerged cap."

Tasting Notes:

We are proud to bring a high-quality wine from a different place with incredible stone and rocky soils in the Milton Free Water. This wine's earthiness and dustiness create explosive notes of intense blackberry notes and black fruit jams with deep, rich, fresh, and spicy black peppery notes. This wine is robust and plays a vivid role in the GSM blends.

Vintage Notes:

Stoney Vine Vineyard, located in the Rocks District of Milton- Freewater AVA, reveals different tasting notes in most wines. The soil profile, commonly known as basalt in the blue mountains, brings a distinctive flavor to the microclimate. The 2018 vintage helped to provide a slow ripening. A Powerful grape varietal that has been planted much more in both the southern Rhône and the Languedoc-Roussillon, it usually adds weight, structure, and color to blends with, typically, Grenache, Syrah, and hints of Cinsaut or cinsault grape.
