Savory red raspberry, dark cherry, plums and a hint of hibiscus flower are the primary components of the aroma. A bouquet of hazelnut, caramel, and milk chocolate combine to create an anticipation of richness that does not go unfulfilled. The flavor of this wine starts with a velvety blend of blackberry, marionberry and currants. Eighteen months in small oak barrels contributes a smooth mouth-coating creaminess, and mature well integrated tannins provide an astringent free viscosity. The finish features a lingering tension between fruit and supple well-seasoned oak. Be forewarned this is a full-flavored wine that is way too easy to drink so beware; the 15.0% alcohol can creep up on you.
