Wine Profile
Food Pairing Notes:
Dark chocolate desserts and salty blue cheese and toasted nuts. Try with Stilton cheese, its a classic pairing.
Production Notes:
Produced in the traditional Late Bottled Vintage Port style from 100% Portuguese varieties. Being a European trained winemaker, Scott will not use European appellation names such as “Champagne” and “Port” for wines we produce in California. Therefore, we have come up with the name Forté for our port style wine.
Tasting Notes:
Sweet, delicate aromas of black cherry, roses and candied gumdrops with hints of mincemeat. Soft tannins flow into a long, sweet plum finish. A perfect companion to nuts, salty blue cheese and of course a good cigar.
Vintage Notes:
Grown on steep mountainous terrain in the higher elevations of the Shenandoah Valley of Amador County, California.
